Why the preflight exists

Accessibility defects often reach a specialist after publication, when the source file is hard to find and the release context has gone. AccessPreflight moves repeatable checks into uploads, pull requests, and release workflows. A finding keeps its source location, technical requirement, evidence, and retest state.

What software can and cannot decide

A machine can inspect a missing accessible name, document metadata, tag relationships, or another condition with a repeatable test. It cannot decide whether alternative text carries the right meaning, whether a complete task works with assistive technology, or whether a law applies to an organization.

The product reports those boundaries instead of turning incomplete coverage into a compliance score. It is a preflight layer, not a certification, legal opinion, or replacement for an accessibility specialist.

How we write public guidance

The field notes start with standards, official guidance, and the behavior of the file formats or APIs they discuss. Sources appear with the article so readers can check the underlying material. We separate technical observations from legal conclusions and revise pages when the referenced standard or product behavior changes.
